Terms of Service

1 Source Home Services

Welcome to 1 Source Home Services! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website at www.1source-hs.com, booking or receiving handyman and home services, communications with us, and any related interactions. By visiting our website, requesting a quote, booking services, or allowing us to perform work at your property, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

We operate as a handyman and home services business located at 1290 Arrowhead Court, Suite C, Crown Point, IN 46307. We use the Jobber platform (provided by Octopusapp Inc. d/b/a Jobber) to manage scheduling, invoicing, payments, communications, and job documentation.

Please read these Terms carefully, along with our Privacy Policy (available at

www.1source-hs.com/privacy-policy). They form the complete agreement between you and 1 Source Home Services.

1. Our Services

We provide general handyman services, repairs, installations, maintenance, and other home improvement work. All services are performed by our team or licensed subcontractors. Specific scope, pricing, timeline, and any warranties will be detailed in the written estimate or job agreement we provide before work begins.

Where applicable, every home improvement contract will comply with the Indiana Home Improvement Contract Act (HICA) and include required elements such as the description of work, total price, start/completion dates, and your 3-business-day cancellation rights.

2. Booking and Scheduling

You may book services via our website, phone (219-303-0707), email (info@1source-hs.com), or through Jobber-powered links. All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by us. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your preferred dates and times.

3. Estimates, Quotes, and Job Agreements

Estimates are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. They are not guarantees of final price—actual costs may vary based on unforeseen conditions discovered during the job (e.g., hidden damage). We will notify you of any significant changes and obtain your approval before proceeding with additional work.

A separate written estimate or job agreement will be issued for each project and will incorporate these Terms by reference.

4. Payments and Billing

Credit and Debit Card payments are processed securely through Jobber and its payment partners (such as Stripe). Unless otherwise agreed:

A deposit or full payment may be required for certain jobs.
Remaining balance is due upon completion of work.
We accept cash, check, major credit cards, debit cards, and ACH transfers.

Late payments may incur a 1.5% monthly finance charge. You authorize us (or Jobber on our behalf) to charge the payment method on file for any outstanding amounts.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

You may cancel or reschedule without fee if you provide at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled start time.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the estimated job cost (or a minimum trip charge of $150, whichever is greater).
No-shows or repeated cancellations may result in us declining future bookings.
For projects governed by Indiana Home Improvement Contract Act (HICA):
We will not file or assert any claim under your homeowner’s insurance policy on your behalf.
\nRight to Cancel - You may cancel this contract at any time before midnight on the third business day after the later of: (A) The date a contract is signed by you and 1 Source Home Services, or (B) If applicable, the date you receive written notification from your insurance company of a final determination as to whether all or any part of your claim or this contract is a covered loss under your insurance policy.

6. Job Site Access and Conditions

You agree to provide safe, clear access to the work area, including electricity, water, and parking as needed. You are responsible for moving personal items and ensuring pets/children are secured away from the work zone. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions or damage caused by unsafe site conditions.

7. Warranties and Guarantees

We stand behind our workmanship with a one (1) year limited warranty on labor from the date of completion (materials are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty only). This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or damage caused by others. To make a claim, contact us promptly with your job number and photos of the issue.

We make no other warranties, express or implied, beyond those stated here or in your specific job agreement.

8. Photographic and Video Documentation

We routinely take photographs and videos at the job site to document conditions, work performed, and completion for our records (stored in Jobber and our internal systems). By booking services, you consent to this documentation for quality assurance, invoicing, and internal use.

We may also publish selected before/after photos on our website www.1source-hs.com or in marketing materials, but only with your prior explicit consent (which you may withhold or revoke at any time).

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 1 Source Home Services, its owners, employees, and subcontractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of use, profits, or data). Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific services giving rise to the claim.

We are not responsible for delays caused by weather, supply shortages, or events beyond our reasonable control.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or costs (including attorney fees) arising from your negligence, your property conditions, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on our website (text, images, logos) is owned by 1 Source Home Services or our licensors and may not be used without permission. Job site photos we create are our property (subject to your consent for public use).

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Lake County, Indiana. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on www.1source-hs.com with a new effective date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with your specific job agreement and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between us.
